Applications

KristalBond can be applied to the glass on the inside of new or existing residential and commercial buildings, motor /transportation vehicles and just about any glass surface seeking to gain the many benefits derived from applying KristalBond product.

Due to the high level of certification that may be required for particular types of buildings, the KristalBond application is ideal for, but not limited to, such areas as:

• Residential homes
• Office buildings

• Shopping malls with large and/or curved glass sections
• Airport control towers and buildings

How is Kristalbond applied?

Prior to Kristalbond being applied, one of our Estimators will need to come and inspect the area you wish to have coated.

This is done in order to inspect and record the details of each piece of glass, including the frames, window or door type, type and condition of glass, overall sizes, the exact measurements, whether or not window film is required to be removed, the presence of curtains/blinds or associated items, presence of handles, snibs etc, recording of environmental conditions such as existing UV, humidity and temperatures.

From this information, we are able to calculate the amount of preparation required and calculate the price of the coating. We can then prepare a Quotation for you to consider.. 

Kristalbond is retrofitted on to existing glass surfaces facing the interior of the area, and can only be applied by one of our Certified Applicators. Kristalbond is applied as follows:

STEP 1 Preparing the surface

After protecting the surrounding area, the glass is thoroughly cleaned several times to eliminate dust, particles and oil residues that may be present on the glass surface

.

STEP 2 Protecting the edges

A special tape is used to protect the glass seals and frames during the application.

STEP 3 Coating Kristalbond

The Kristalbond liquids are mixed according to an exact ratio according to the size of each glass panel to ensure even coverage. Using a hand held applicator containing a foam sponge, the coating is spread across the glass and is applied according to specific strokes and techniques.

Application Duration      

2 person team can complete up to 25 sq m per 8 hour day depending on size and type of glass area.

Post application   

Kristalbond is touch dry within 1-1.5 hours of application and is fully cured within 7 days of application. Kristalbond is cleaned much in the same way as you would clean your uncoated glass areas - with a mild glass cleaner using a non-abrasive cloth. 

How much does Kristalbond cost?

Kristalbond pricing is subject to one of our Estimators giving you a formal quotation. 

Our Estimators are required to inspect the area you propose to have the Kristalbond coating applied to.  This is done in order to ascertain the amount of time required to prepare the glass, as well as gain exact measurements of each individual piece of glass.
